About Me: A Journey of Volunteering Globally to build a Career Abroad as a Nomad

I'm Saska Hayes, a solo travelling single 31 year old woman nomad from New Zealand, living with epilepsy and passionate about starting a career by volunteering abroad. After leaving my career as a lawyer I took a leap of faith and began my journey to build a new meaningful career abroad, despite not knowing exactly what I wanted to do. Along the way, I’ve embraced life as a nomad, volunteering and rebuilding my life. Since leaving NZ, I’ve dedicated myself to making a difference and growing professionally through volunteering opportunities in conservation and community development in Africa.

Through this blog, you’ll follow my nomadic journey, as I search for a new home and build a career that allows me to make an impact. I’ll share personal stories, tips on volunteering abroad, and how to handle roadblocks and challenges that may come your way. From volunteering in Big 5 Game Reserves in Africa to immersing myself in new cultures and impactful projects, you’ll get a firsthand look at how global volunteering can shape your career and life.
Follow me for inspiration, tips, and stories from a volunteering nomad on the road!
